‘Braak’ is a conceptual piece about the worth of a journey itself and the costs and gains of reaching ones destination. It was made in a week in collaboration with three other students for an artistic mini-festival at the High School of the Arts in Utrecht (HKU).

The piece consists of a room that is fully blinded from the outside. The floor is covered with glass pipes balanced on top of each other leaving small spaces in between. Visitors are given boots and let into the room one or two at a time. Lightning in the room is limited and reflections from the glass pipes makes navigation difficult. Every step made is echoed back through the room via a sound system that records only footsteps. The self appointed destination for visitors is a television set at the other end of the room. Once reached, the visitor will find the television shows nothing but static noise.
